Rick and Will had an incredibly successful year, piloting their 1992 Chevrolet Corvette into the winner's circle of all 3 MKM Racing Promotions events!

At the 2000 Gambler's Run Twin 50 in Elko Nevada they finished first, averaging 177.012 and a top radar reading of 209 mph. Finishing off the season, they again took the checkered flag at the Pony Express II Open Road Race in Battle
Mountain, Nevada, averaging an impressive185.301 mph with a blistering radar reading of 221mph!

Along with their 1st place finishes, they have also been inducted into the 200 MPH Club an unprecedented 4 times
.


SuperSport Champions
Carl Young/Ellen Young


Carl and Ellen finished first in all 3 events this year! They were in the 170 mph class for each event.

The highlight was at the Pony Express II in Battle Mountain, Nevada where they finished 0.233 mph from averaging a perfect 170 mph! In Elko Nevada, they had an equally impressive finish at the Gambler's Twin 50, coming in 0.26 mph from perfection.  Carl and Ellen hail from Las Vegas, Nevada.


Grand Sport Champions

Gary Becton


Rudy had first place finishes at the 2000 Big Bend Open Road Race in Texas (with Tony Woodfin) and the Gambler's Run Twin 50 Open Road Race in Elko, Nevada (with Gary Becton). Rudy and Gary finished an amazing 0.053 mph from averaging a perfect 135 mph at Elko!

He had a second place finish in the 150 mph Class at the Pony Express II event in Battle Mountain, Nevada (again with Tony Woodfin)

Grand Touring Champion
Maureen Hance


Maureen started as a course worker and ran her first race at the 1999 Pony Express. Since then she has run 4 more races with 2 first place finishes. She started out in the 110 class and is now running in the 120 class and is planning on running as many races in 2001 that she can.

Maureen's racing highlight this year was her 1st place finish at the Pony Express II event in Battle Mountain, Nevada where she averaged an incredible 0.018 mph from her target of 120 mph!

Maureen enjoys the new friends that she has met while participating in open road racing. She travels with Ted Zaleski to the races and she said that without Ted's help she would never be able to participate in these events.  She is looking forward to the day when Ted, his son Ted, and she can all run in the same race. Maureen lives in The Woodlands, Texas and is very proud of her 6 grandchildren.


Touring Champion
W. A. 'Bud' Ridenour Jr.

'Bud' had a successful though unusual year year 2000.

Due to car problems, 'Bud' was forced to enter Touring in his tow vehicle, a 2000 Quad Cab. Undaunted, 'Bud' and his truck finished first at both the Twin 50 in Elko, Nevada and the Pony Express II in Battle Mountain, Nevada events
